About the role#
The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team identifies and monitors significant risks that impact business strategies and objectives. As an ERM student, you will use AI tools and emerging technologies to support the development and maintenance of the fraud risk register. You will gain direct insight into fraud risk management and help the organization strengthen its risk mitigation efforts.
What you'll do#
- Assist with fraud risk assessments and update the fraud risk register to document potential impacts in areas with high transaction volumes or complex operations.
- Review process diagrams to evaluate and document specific fraud risk scenarios and controls.
- Support the assessment and analysis of enterprise risk data.
- Assist in the ongoing support of ERM enterprise risk software.
- Promote accountability and integrity to help develop the company's risk culture.
What you'll need#
- Completion of second or third-year undergraduate studies, or a recent graduate, in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Experience with AI and generative AI tools, including prompt development and optimization.
- A technical understanding of Large Language Models and a drive to apply machine learning to real problems.
- Proficiency in basic to intermediate programming using Python, SQL, R, or similar languages.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
- A commitment to the values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity, and collaboration.
- Previous training or experience in Risk Management or Fraud Risk Management is an asset.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The term runs for 10 months, from November 2, 2026, to August 21, 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta.
