About the role#
The Intern for Credit Risk Acquisitions supports the development, monitoring, and optimization of adjudication strategies. You will work with portfolio, operational, and customer data to generate insights and recommendations that guide business decisions and risk management. This role involves collaborating across internal teams including Fraud, AML, Product, and Marketing.
What you'll do#
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks related to credit adjudication and fraud prevention.
- Develop and maintain management reporting, dashboards, and KPI monitoring tools.
- Support the optimization of adjudication strategies by conducting quantitative analysis and monitoring performance.
- Evaluate customer behavior, application outcomes, and loss performance through data segmentation.
- Assist in the design, testing, and validation of strategy changes within decisioning systems.
- Produce research and analysis for business cases, forecasting, and management presentations.
- Apply statistical methods and visualization tools to create actionable business insights.
- Improve data assets, reporting processes, and analytical methodologies.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, or Economics.
- Up to 2 years of experience in data analytics, risk analytics, or financial services.
- Technical proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn about credit risk, fraud prevention, and financial services.
- Experience with data visualization tools, cloud-based analytics, machine learning, or statistical modeling is a plus.
