About the role#
As a Forensic Accounting Summer Intern at AIG, you will join our Claims team to help evaluate and quantify complex commercial insurance losses. You will work alongside experienced forensic accountants and claims professionals to analyze financial data and support informed settlement decisions. This 9-week program offers hands-on experience in forensic accounting and commercial insurance.
What you'll do#
- Apply accounting principles and analytical techniques to collect, interpret, and analyze financial and business data.
- Assist with the evaluation and quantification of complex business losses and the preparation of loss measurements.
- Analyze financial records and perform calculations to support claim evaluations and settlement decisions.
- Collaborate with forensic accountants, claims professionals, and other subject matter experts.
- Document analyses, findings, and conclusions in a clear and accurate manner.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree, to be received no later than May 2028.
- Preferred majors include Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, auditing concepts, and business fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- Roles are based in Dallas, Texas, or Chicago, Illinois.
- This position is on-site, requiring at least four days per week in the office.
