About the role#
The Internal Audit Department is looking for an intern to support the safeguarding of assets and the reliability of financial and operational records. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with audit projects, evaluating internal controls, and analyzing data. This role supports efforts to strengthen governance, risk management, and compliance across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Perform internal audits and review internal controls for effectiveness and efficiency.
- Test the reasonableness of financial balances.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Prepare electronic audit workpapers in accordance with company and external audit standards.
- Inform the audit coordinator of assignment progress.
- Discuss results and recommendations for improvement with the audit team and company management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business major.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, and Copilot.
- Proficiency with Adobe Pro is preferred.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
- The role follows a hybrid schedule, with employees typically working four days in the office and one day remotely each week.
- There is an opportunity to continue working part-time during the subsequent school year.
