About the role#
This co-op position offers hands-on experience within our corporate finance department. You will assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements in accordance with statutory and GAAP guidance. You will gain exposure to the monthly book close, regulatory filings, and the core operations of our accounts payable and receivable teams.
What you'll do#
- Prepare monthly journal entries for the financial close.
- Research account transactions and complete monthly reconciliations using subledgers.
- Support the Financial Reporting team with annual and quarterly regulatory filings, including the preparation of notes, tables, and financial statements.
- Assist the accounts payable team with reconciliations for Sales & Use Tax and Abandoned Property.
- Help the accounts receivable team process Finance Agreements, Return Mail, and refunds.
- Gather information for auditors and participate in team meetings.
- Manage special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accounting degree program.
- Coursework and project experience in accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills.
- An analytical approach and attention to detail.
- Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship or restriction.
- Experience with accounting software is preferred.
