About the role#
This co-op position provides hands-on experience within the Finance and Accounting organization at Independence Blue Cross. You will work alongside accountants and managers to support daily operations. This role offers exposure to corporate accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, revenue accounting, and monthly close activities.
What you'll do#
- Assist with account reconciliations and monthly close activities.
- Support financial reporting and analysis efforts.
- Assist with revenue accounting and accounts receivable processes.
- Review and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Help identify process improvement opportunities within accounting operations.
- Collaborate with team members on special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.
- Maintain accurate records and support compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior undergraduate student, or a recent graduate within one year of the program start date.
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professionalism and discretion when handling financial information.
- An Android or iOS device compatible with the free Microsoft Authenticator app.
