About the role#
As a Summer Intern in the Marine Underwriting department, you will gain hands-on experience within a global insurance organization. This 9-week program offers exposure to the day-to-day operations of our Marine business, which covers Inland Marine, Ocean Cargo, and Marine Liability product lines. You will work alongside underwriters, risk consultants, and claims professionals to support the evaluation of complex exposures and the development of insurance solutions for businesses of all sizes.
What you'll do#
- Support the evaluation and underwriting of risks across Inland Marine, Ocean Cargo, and Marine Liability.
- Review underwriting submissions, exposure information, and loss history to assist with risk selection and pricing.
- Partner with internal teams to develop tailored insurance solutions for clients.
- Build relationships with brokers and clients to support new business and profitable portfolio growth.
- Analyze market trends and emerging risks related to transportation and global trade.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to be received no later than June 2028.
- Availability for the full program from June 7 through August 6, 2027.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and manage multiple priorities.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located in Houston, Texas.
- The role is on-site, requiring attendance in the office at least four days per week.
