About the role#
Aecon is seeking a Co-op Assistant Coordinator for our Data team in Toronto. You will join our integrated operational controls team to help build and maintain data-driven solutions. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Support the development, testing, and deployment of Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
- Design and build AI agents and agentic workflows to automate report and application creation.
- Help create a centralized agent architecture to manage multiple specialized skills.
- Write and maintain Python scripts for automation, data processing, and system integration.
- Collaborate on prompt engineering and the evaluation of LLM-based tools.
- Manage codebases using Git and version control best practices.
- Assist with data modeling, DAX, and Power Query development.
- Troubleshoot technical issues within Power Platform environments.
- Document workflows and agent capabilities for team knowledge sharing.
- Participate in code reviews and iterative development cycles.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary degree program for Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Solid programming fundamentals and hands-on experience with Python.
- Interest in agentic development and AI or LLM-based tools.
- Working knowledge of Git and version control workflows.
- Familiarity with or an eagerness to learn Microsoft Power Platform tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort with ambiguous or evolving requirements.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms like Azure or AWS is an asset.

- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Pay Range: $23 to $28 per hour.
