About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in construction management. You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers to develop skills in field engineering, office coordination, or project estimation. This role is designed to prepare you for the core functions of the construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Perform field engineering, operational planning, and project scheduling.
- Manage cost control, quantity tracking, and contract administration.
- Handle material procurement and collaborate with suppliers to expedite deliveries.
- Execute standard engineering tasks and resolve minor technical issues on-site.
- Maintain accurate records of work progress, costs, and material usage.
- Investigate reported incidents and recommend solutions.
- Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements and costs.
- Use specialized software such as Hard Dollar, AutoCAD, and P6.
- Coordinate and follow up on project files across different divisions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time during the winter 2027 term.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety, ethics, and integrity.
- Ability to access all areas of a construction site in various environments and weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel or relocate as project needs require.
- Professionalism in all interactions and a focus on meeting deadlines.
