About the role#
The Administrative Fellowship at Advocate Health is a one-year, project-based program designed to provide early careerists with broad exposure to healthcare operations and strategic planning. Fellows work under the guidance of a preceptor and receive support from a network of senior leaders and former fellows. This role offers the opportunity to explore interests in areas such as operations, finance, quality, human resources, and business development.
What you'll do#
- Manage a diverse portfolio of healthcare projects and contribute to the progress of key initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians, administrative colleagues, and allied health staff to promote a team-based approach to medicine.
- Participate in strategic planning processes and contribute to the work of assigned units or task forces.
- Apply improvement methodologies, including data collection and analysis, to enhance processes and patient outcomes.
- Meet regularly with leadership to report on project progress and fellowship development.
- Attend state and national meetings relevant to healthcare management.
What you'll need#
- A Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Business (with a healthcare management focus), or Public Health.
- Must be a graduate from a program accredited by CAHME or AASCB within two calendar years prior to the start of the fellowship.
- Status as a US Citizen or permanent resident.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to lead projects, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under the pressure of deadlines.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Oak Brook, Illinois.
- The fellowship term runs from June 7, 2027, to June 6, 2028.
- This role is paid at a rate of $34.00 per hour.
