Pediatric Genetic Counselor Intern

About the role#

The Pediatric Genetic Counselor Intern role is a full-time, paid position based in Winston Salem, North Carolina. This internship operates on a rolling basis and requires on-site attendance, Monday through Friday.

What you'll do#

• Conduct patient and family visits and deliver support services.
• Provide administrative coverage for the office, including answering phones and maintaining computer data.
• Assist with research projects, data analysis, and the creation of reports.
• Prepare documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the health system and the public.
• Perform physical tasks as needed, including lifting up to 10 pounds and assisting with patient transport in wheelchairs.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate, Master's, or postgraduate program.
• A GED or equivalent education.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent planning and prioritization abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
• Proficiency in computer skills.
