About the role#
As a Student Business Development Representative, you will represent Starlink, the internet service from SpaceX, in rural and underserved communities. This is a field role where you will build awareness and help families explore high-speed connectivity. You will receive paid training, ongoing coaching, and support from field sales leaders.
What you'll do#
- Manage an assigned territory by using broadband coverage maps and tools to identify households.
- Plan your own routes and track outreach efforts.
- Engage in door-to-door outreach to explain service and hardware offerings.
- Answer questions and assist interested customers with getting started using a personal referral code.
- Identify opportunities at farmers markets, community events, civic groups, and local business partnerships.
- Turn positive conversations into introductions to neighbors, family, and friends.
- Log daily activity, sales, hours, and mileage in the field app.
- Participate in regular check-ins with your Regional Sales Manager to review progress and strategy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in school.
- Ability to work 15 to 25 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.
- A valid driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle for travel to rural territories.
- A smartphone.
- You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
- A self-motivated, coachable, and dependable attitude.
Location & details#
- Location: Austin, Texas.
- Compensation: Hourly base pay plus a $200 commission for each qualified activation.
- Additional support: Mileage reimbursement, a monthly cell phone stipend, and company-provided apparel.
- Timeline: Paid training begins the week of October 5, 2026, with field work running from October 12 through the end of the year.
- Employment status: You will be a W-2 employee of Mosaic. Employment is contingent upon a background check.
