About the role#
The Controls & IT College Co-Op supports both Controls Engineering and Information Technology within a manufacturing environment. This role offers hands-on experience with automation systems, industrial controls, and IT infrastructure while contributing to troubleshooting, system optimization, and continuous improvement projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and automated equipment, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems.
- Support machine uptime by diagnosing electrical and controls-related issues.
- Participate in PLC programming updates and documentation.
- Assist with robot programming, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on automated systems.
- Provide support for shop floor hardware including PCs, printers, scanners, label machines, and radios.
- Assist with network troubleshooting, including connectivity and IP configurations.
- Support user account management, IT documentation, asset tracking, system backups, and software installations.
What you'll need#
- Full-time enrollment in an accredited college pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Graduation date of May 2027 or later.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Availability to work at least 25 hours per week on a year-round basis.
- Basic understanding of PLCs and industrial automation.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, schematics, networking fundamentals, Windows OS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
