About the role#
The Controls & IT College Co-Op supports the Controls Engineering and Information Technology teams at our Fort Wayne facility. This role offers hands-on experience with automation systems, industrial controls, and IT infrastructure while contributing to system optimization and troubleshooting.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and automated equipment such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems.
- Diagnose electrical and controls issues to support machine uptime.
- Assist with PLC programming updates and documentation.
- Help with robot programming and preventative maintenance on automated systems.
- Provide shop floor support for hardware including PCs, printers, scanners, label machines, and radios.
- Assist with network troubleshooting, including connectivity and IP configurations.
- Support user account management, IT documentation, asset tracking, and system backups.
- Help with software installations, updates, and cybersecurity practices.
What you'll need#
- Full-time enrollment in an accredited college pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- A graduation date of May 2027 or later.
- Ability to work at least 25 hours per week year-round.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- A basic understanding of PLCs and industrial automation.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, schematics, networking fundamentals, Windows OS, and Microsoft Office.
