About the role#
The Operations College Co-op supports financial activities and facility operations at the Oxford Forge site. This position provides hands-on experience with financial reporting, capital projects, and general accounting within a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and analyze financial reports like income statements and balance sheets.
- Track capital improvement projects, including budget and expenditure monitoring.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Maintain financial records and perform data entry.
- Collaborate with departments to gather information for decision-making.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects.
- Assist with quality inspections and the sorting of non-conformance material.
- Contribute to process improvements across the department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Operations.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Ability to work at least 25 hours per week, year-round.
- Strong grasp of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Interest in manufacturing operations and finance.
- Experience with ERP systems like PLEX is a plus.
