About the role#
The Corporate Accounting Intern will join our corporate accounting and financial reporting team in Milwaukee. You will report to the Senior Financial Analyst and gain exposure to corporate accounting matters, month-end close processes, and external reporting requirements. This is a full-time, paid summer internship.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the month-end and quarter-end close process for corporate functions.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of Zurn’s quarterly and annual SEC filings by creating supporting documentation.
- Help maintain and adhere to internal controls under SOX while ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Research accounting guidance using the FASB Accounting Standards Codification.
- Assist with the coordination and execution of internal and external audits.
- Perform ad hoc projects and analysis, including a specific project focused on compensation and benefits.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Accounting or Finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills including pivot tables and dynamic formulas.
- Ability to commit to 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
