About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers an internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside senior technicians in a shop environment. This position provides the opportunity to develop mechanical skills while learning to support our customers.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines, construction, and agriculture equipment.
- Learn to respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner.
- Work in a shop environment while maintaining safety and cleanliness standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine mechanics, construction, or agricultural equipment mechanics.
- Good academic standing and positive recommendations from your instructors.
- A positive attitude and a desire to work as a team player.
- Your own mechanic tool set.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 60 lbs and performing tasks like climbing, kneeling, and reaching.
- Completion of a drug test, as this role is safety-sensitive.

- Location: St. Cloud, Minnesota.
- Type: Part-time, rolling internship.
- Compensation: Starting wage is $21.00 per hour.
