About the role#
Ziegler Ag Equipment offers an internship for individuals interested in a career in agricultural sales. This role provides hands-on exposure to our Ag Division through a structured learning experience. You will work across Sales, Parts, Service, Product Support, Marketing, and Technology to gain product knowledge and support key business functions.
What you'll do#
- Build relationships with employees across multiple departments.
- Participate in training to develop product knowledge and learn Ziegler systems.
- Shadow Sales Representatives and Account Managers during customer visits, sales calls, and equipment demonstrations.
- Develop a basic understanding of equipment lines, including CAT, FENDT, Massey Ferguson, Gleaner, Brandt, and Geringhoff.
- Learn to enter and maintain accurate customer information in the CRM system.
- Assist with trade shows, field days, and company events, including setup and engagement.
- Learn the fundamentals of prospecting, lead follow-up, pricing strategy, and team selling.
- Complete an assigned project or business-need-based assignment and present your findings to Ag leadership.
- Make supervised customer calls and log activities in the CRM.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong agricultural background or interest in the industry.
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn equipment operation.
- Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers.
- A clean driving record.
- Prior sales or customer service experience is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Altoona, Iowa.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17.47 to $20.95 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
- Travel: Up to 25-50% travel for customer visits, events, and training, with occasional overnight travel.
