About the role#
As a Human Resources Summer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by working with professionals who support the employee experience at Rockland Trust. You will contribute to projects, build professional skills, and gain exposure to the people strategies that support our organization. Interns also collaborate on summer projects to tackle real business challenges and present recommendations to leadership.
What you'll do#
- Support the onboarding experience for new hires, including orientation preparation and communications.
- Assist with HR administrative processes and employee data management.
- Partner with the Talent Acquisition team on recruiting and internship program activities.
- Help coordinate colleague engagement, training, and professional development initiatives.
- Compile information and assist with HR reporting, presentations, and department communications.
- Participate in special projects that support business and Human Resources priorities.
- Provide customer service to colleagues and internal business partners.
- Collaborate with HR team members on initiatives to enhance the employee experience.
- Participate in collaborative summer projects with fellow interns.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Positive attitude and a strong customer-service mindset.
- Curiosity, initiative, and an eagerness to learn.
- Interest in building a career in Human Resources or a related field.
