About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers a paid internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain hands-on experience in a shop environment while working alongside senior technicians. This role supports our agriculture, construction, and mining equipment operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines.
- Work with senior technicians to develop your mechanical skills.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive and timely manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine, construction, or agricultural equipment mechanics.
- Good academic standing and positive instructor recommendations.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 60 lbs and performing tasks like climbing, kneeling, and reaching.
- Note: This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a pre-employment drug test.
Location & details#
- Location: Sioux City, Iowa.
- Schedule: Full-time, rolling term.
- Compensation: Starting wage of $21.00 per hour.
