About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers an internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside senior technicians in a shop environment. This role focuses on developing real-world mechanical skills within the agriculture, construction, and mining industries.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines, construction equipment, and agricultural machinery.
- Learn to respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner.
- Work with senior technicians who will mentor your professional development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine mechanics, construction equipment mechanics, or agricultural equipment mechanics.
- Good academic standing and positive recommendations from your instructors.
- A positive attitude and a desire to work as a team player.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- The ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and push or pull up to 50 lbs.

- Location: Bloomington, Minnesota.
- Status: Part-time, on-site, paid internship.
- Term: Rolling.
