About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers an internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing equipment while working alongside senior technicians. This role is part-time and based in a shop environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines, construction, and agriculture equipment.
- Learn to respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner.
- Work with senior technicians to develop mechanical skills.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine, construction, or agricultural equipment mechanics.
- Good academic standing and positive recommendations from instructors.
- A positive attitude and a desire to work as a team player.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and push or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Capability to perform physical tasks including standing, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
- Ability to pass a drug test, as this is a safety-sensitive position.

- Location: Marshall, Minnesota.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Starting wage of $21.00 per hour.
