About the role#
The Student Staff I position in Houston supports the Young Life mission of proclaiming the Gospel and helping adolescents grow in their faith. This role focuses on spiritual development, leadership training, and ministry support. Employees are required to subscribe to the Young Life Statement of Faith and fulfill ministry functions as a servant of God. This is a full-time, paid position requiring an on-site presence.
What you'll do#
- Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development through prayer, fellowship, and growth initiatives.
- Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership to provide support, vision, and training.
- Recruit and train new leaders to build effective teams.
- Engage in direct ministry, including contact work, club activities, and discipleship programs.
- Raise financial support as directed and maintain consistent donor care practices.
- Participate in administrative tasks, including office support, expense reporting, and goal setting.
- Pursue personal growth through mentorship, regional training events, and individualized development programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program, with relevant fields including Psychology, Philosophy, Communications, Political Science, Nursing, or Public Health.
- Proven relational skills when working with both kids and adults.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding ministry and personal matters.
- A commitment to the Young Life Statement of Faith and the ability to model biblical standards in conduct.
