About the role#
Young Life is hiring Student Staff for the High Country area. This is a full-time, paid position based in Boone, North Carolina. The role focuses on spiritual leadership, ministry development, and community engagement. Employees are expected to subscribe to the Young Life Statement of Faith and serve as a representative of the organization's Christian mission.
What you'll do#
- Create a yearly personal growth plan to foster your spiritual life through prayer, reflection, and study.
- Lead teams and individuals in their own spiritual development.
- Build and maintain relationships with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
- Recruit and train new leaders to support the local team.
- Raise financial support as directed and maintain consistent communication with donor partners.
- Engage in direct ministry through contact work, club activities, and discipleship programs.
- Handle administrative tasks such as expense reporting and office support.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program, with preference for majors including Psychology, Communications, Political Science, Business Administration, Sociology, or Human Resources.
- Proven ability to build relationships with both adolescents and adults.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A high level of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Readiness to fulfill ministry functions and abide by organizational policies.

- Compensation: The annual full-time salary range is $24,550 to $29,275, based on experience and education.
