About the role#
This position is a training program designed to help you earn your CDL-A and gain experience as an LTL Driver. You will work on-site, balancing training sessions with hands-on responsibilities. This is a full-time, paid opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Attend training to obtain your CDL-A license.
- Perform supervised vehicle inspections according to FMCSR standards.
- Load and unload freight using a forklift.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with DOT and company policies.
- Communicate regularly with service center personnel.
- Operate a tractor-trailer combination under supervision for up to 11 consecutive hours.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting objects up to 75 lbs, moving converter dollies, and navigating uneven surfaces.
- Work in various weather conditions and maintain the ability to reach, bend, squat, and kneel.
What you'll need#
- You are at least 21 years old.
- You have at least 1 year of related experience.
- You hold a valid state-issued driver's license for at least 12 months.
- You can attain a CDL-A permit by the first day of class.
- You are able to obtain double/triple trailers, tanker, and HAZMAT endorsements within 90 days.
- You can initiate a TSA fingerprint-based background check by the second week of class.
- You have a safe driving record.
- You can pass a DOT drug test and a company-paid DOT physical.
- You are available for various shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
- You can read and speak English to communicate with the public and understand highway signs.
- Forklift experience and a Class B CDL are preferred.
