About the role#
This is a full-time, paid position for a Truck Driver Student based in Lawrenceville, Georgia. You will gain on-the-job experience while training to obtain your CDL-A. This role requires working on-site and being available for various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Attend training sessions to earn your CDL-A.
- Perform vehicle inspections as required by FMCSR section 396.13.
- Load and unload freight using a forklift.
- Verify and complete all required documentation and reports.
- Maintain regular contact with service center personnel.
- Operate a tractor-trailer combination under supervision.
- Lift freight and objects weighing up to 50 lbs frequently, and occasionally over 75 lbs.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 21 years old.
- A valid state-issued driver's license held for at least 12 months.
- One year of related experience.
- A CDL-A permit by the first day of class.
- Ability to pass a DOT drug test.
- Ability to pass a company-paid DOT physical and pre-hire test.
- Proficiency in English to read signs, complete reports, and communicate with the public.
