About the role#
The Outdoor Lighting team manages the lifecycle of outdoor customer lighting, from installation requests and design to construction, maintenance, and billing. As an intern, you will gain experience in utility infrastructure and project coordination. You will work with a team that delivers lighting solutions for residential, commercial, and municipal customers.
What you'll do#
- Update project tracking systems and handle file organization.
- Prepare designs and layouts for lighting projects using internal standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to gather documentation and project requirements.
- Draft reports on project status, billing, and customer communications.
- Analyze current workflows and suggest improvements to existing processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university as a Freshman or higher.
- Pursuit of a degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- A strong interest in utility operations, infrastructure, or outdoor lighting.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or GIS software is helpful but not required.

- Location: St Paul, Minnesota.
- Modality: Hybrid, requiring in-person attendance.
- Schedule: Full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year.
- Term: Summer 2027, starting May 24, 2027.
