About the role#
As a Grid Data Intern, you will support the Grid Analyst team at Xcel Energy. This role focuses on improving the accuracy and usability of grid documentation and data. You will work on tasks that help increase efficiency across grid operations workflows. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Test and revise critical documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with data clean-up for the ADMS Network Model.
- Develop automated solutions for Grid Analyst data processes.
- Perform manual attribution of transformer catalogs.
- Export data tables from ADMS for reporting purposes.
- Execute monthly data update cycles.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or higher at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, GIS, or Data Engineering.
- Ability to work full-time (up to 40 hours per week) during the summer and part-time (up to 20 hours per week) during the school year.
- Ability to commute to the office in Minneapolis.
- Preferred: 3.5 GPA or higher, prior internship experience, and coursework in geoprocessing, databases, or cartography.

- Compensation: $22.10 to $27.90 per hour.
