About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship within the Distribution Gas Design Organization at Xcel Energy. You will gain experience in the planning, design, and execution of natural gas distribution projects. You will work alongside designers, engineers, and operations personnel to support infrastructure projects in the East Twin Cities territory.
What you'll do#
- Review city, county, and state construction plans to identify potential conflicts.
- Design gas and service replacements.
- Set up billing for customer-driven jobs.
- Review as-builts and mapping for inaccuracies.
- Submit requests to correct mapping errors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore or higher at an ABET accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Geospatial Information Systems, Construction Management, Project Management, Surveying Engineering, or Land Surveying.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer months.
- Ability to commute to the designated work location.
