About the role#
FSB Architects + Engineers offers a hands-on summer internship for mechanical engineering students. You will work alongside licensed engineers and experienced designers on active projects. This role involves applying engineering concepts to real buildings, ranging from hangars and healthcare facilities to commercial and tribal projects. You will gain exposure to the mechanical design process from initial concept through construction.
What you'll do#
- Assist with HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system design using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
- Help with duct sizing, pipe sizing, equipment selection, and system layout.
- Support the development of mechanical plans, schedules, diagrams, details, and construction documents.
- Participate in coordination meetings with architecture, electrical, structural, and fire protection teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for mechanical engineering at an ABET accredited institution.
- Basic familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or similar design software.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to ask questions.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position located on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
- The internship takes place during the Summer 2027 term.
