About the role#
This internship focuses on utility mapping and asset data improvement. You will work with GIS, asset management, and operations teams to validate, clean, and maintain spatial and attribute data. The role aims to improve the accuracy and reliability of utility system records. This position is a paid, full-time summer internship starting May 31, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Create, edit, and maintain GIS datasets and maps.
- Perform geospatial analysis using GIS software and geodatabases.
- Collect, clean, and organize spatial and tabular data.
- Support field data collection using GPS devices or mobile GIS apps.
- Conduct quality assurance on GIS data.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or higher at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer.
- Access to a personal vehicle for travel to various worksites.

- Locations: Minneapolis, Minnesota and Denver, Colorado.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $20.90 to $22.10 per hour.
