About the role#
DePuy Synthes is hiring two R&D Engineering Co-Ops for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the Global Joint Reconstruction organization in Warsaw, Indiana. This role offers the chance to work on total joint replacement medical devices, including implants and instrumentation. You will gain exposure to anatomy, disease states, and surgical procedures while working alongside experienced engineers.
What you'll do#
- Apply analysis and design tools along with rapid prototyping technologies to develop new products.
- Participate in design control processes, including identifying patient needs and assessing design specifications.
- Assist in the development and execution of verification and validation plans, which may involve designing test fixtures and writing protocols.
- Use Siemens NX 3D CAD software to produce models and drawings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in R&D, prototype manufacturing, mechanical testing, and design quality.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university during the 2027 Co-Op session.
- Pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related science field.
- Completion of at least your first year of college by the start of the first work rotation.
- An understanding of basic engineering and scientific principles.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) on-site.
