About the role#
The Communications and Knowledge Management Intern works with the Customer Energy and Transportation Solutions (CETS) Planning and Performance team. This role blends communications, technology, and business process improvement. You will support departmental communication efforts, organize knowledge assets, and explore how emerging AI tools like Microsoft Copilot can improve productivity. You will collaborate with leaders, subject matter experts, and technology partners to support clean energy programs.
What you'll do#
- Develop and edit communications for employees and stakeholders, including newsletters, emails, and intranet content.
- Support SharePoint site design, content organization, and user experience improvements.
- Assist with knowledge management initiatives such as content inventories, metadata tagging, and governance.
- Create job aids, presentations, and other communication materials.
- Support AI and automation initiatives to improve information access.
- Collect and analyze usage metrics to improve communication effectiveness.
- Support employee engagement and change management activities by coordinating meetings and events.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams.
What you'll need#
- Current student at an accredited college or university (Junior or higher).
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Strategic Communication, Technical Communication, Business Administration, Digital Media, Digital Communications, Knowledge Management, Library and Information Science, or Organizational Communication.
- Ability to work full-time (up to 40 hours per week) during the summer.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to organize information, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Coursework or experience in strategic communications, content management, SharePoint, AI, knowledge management, digital workplace technologies, user experience, or data analytics is preferred.
- Familiarity with metadata, records management, or information governance concepts is a plus.
