This structural engineering internship provides hands-on experience on mining projects. You will work alongside engineers and designers to support structural analysis, design, and documentation, gaining exposure to both office-based design work and field-based site inspections.
What you'll do#
- Assist in preparing structural drawings and details using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Support structural analysis and design calculations for steel, concrete, and wood structures.
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and field reviews.
- Contribute to technical documentation and engineering reports.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Help improve design processes, tools, and standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering program (3rd year or higher).
- Strong academic foundation in structural mechanics and design.
- Familiarity with NBCC, CSA S16, or CSA A23.3 design codes is an asset.
- Experience with software such as AutoCAD, Revit, S-Frame, or SAP2000.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

- Location: Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $22.50 – $30.25/hr for Ontario.
