About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work with the Power and Energy team to support the design of medium-voltage electric distribution systems. This includes infrastructure ranging from 120/240V to 24.9kV. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside senior engineers on real projects.
What you'll do#
- Learn the basic principles of Power Distribution Engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Support the preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company funds and resources.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program.
- An anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- A demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and common technology tools.
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
- Experience with Excel, Outlook, Google Earth, and AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Spring, Texas.
- The internship is a 12-week program scheduled to begin on May 17, 2027.
- No relocation or housing assistance is provided for this position.
