About the role#
KPFF Consulting Engineers is accepting applications for a Structural Engineering Intern in our Austin, Texas office. This role involves working closely with local engineers in an on-site capacity. We hire for these positions on a rolling basis, and while there may not be an immediate vacancy, we review submitted applications as roles become available.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate directly with local KPFF engineers on-site.
- Participate in hands-on training and mentorship opportunities.
- Engage with a variety of structural engineering projects.
- Submit a resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts to complete your application.
- Address specific prompts regarding project challenges and personal influences within your cover letter.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS program for Civil or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in structures, having completed at least 3 years of coursework.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- A solid understanding of structural engineering fundamentals, including free body diagrams and P/V/M diagrams.
- Preferred: In-process of obtaining a Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, previous internship experience, and completed coursework in structural statics, dynamics, steel design, concrete design, wood design, or seismic analysis.
