About the role#
The KPFF office in Austin is accepting applications for a Structural Engineering Intern. This is a rolling position where you will work directly with local engineers on-site. We provide hands-on training and mentorship to help you develop your skills on a variety of projects.
What you'll do#
You will work closely with the engineering team at our Austin office. To complete your application, please provide a resume, a cover letter, and your current unofficial transcripts. Your cover letter should address two specific prompts: describe a project challenge you faced and how you handled it, and identify who has influenced you and why.
What you'll need#
- You are a current student who has completed at least 3 years of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in structures.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA in your Bachelor coursework.
- A solid understanding of structural engineering fundamentals, including free body diagrams and P/V/M diagrams.
- Preferred candidates have previous internship experience or are currently pursuing a Master degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Preferred coursework includes Structural Statics and Dynamics, Steel Design, Concrete Design, Wood Design, and Seismic Analysis and Design.
