Structural Engineering Intern

About the role#

KPFF Consulting Engineers is accepting applications for a Structural Engineering Intern in our Austin, Texas office. This role involves working closely with local engineers in an on-site capacity. We hire for these positions on a rolling basis, and while there may not be an immediate vacancy, we review submitted applications as roles become available.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate directly with local KPFF engineers on-site.
• Participate in hands-on training and mentorship opportunities.
• Engage with a variety of structural engineering projects.
• Submit a resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts to complete your application.
• Address specific prompts regarding project challenges and personal influences within your cover letter.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a BS program for Civil or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in structures, having completed at least 3 years of coursework.
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• A solid understanding of structural engineering fundamentals, including free body diagrams and P/V/M diagrams.
• Preferred: In-process of obtaining a Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, previous internship experience, and completed coursework in structural statics, dynamics, steel design, concrete design, wood design, or seismic analysis.
