    About the role#

    WSP is looking for a Geotechnical Engineering Intern to join our Earth and Environment team for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, 12-week position based in our Anchorage, Alaska office. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to build your technical and professional skills. The internship is scheduled to begin on May 17, 2027, though start dates may have some flexibility.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
    • Support the preparation of final design plans and cost estimates.
    • Learn the basic principles of geotechnical engineering.
    • Help maintain project documentation.
    • Complete assigned training tasks.
    • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources.
    • Support various engineering tasks as needed.
    • Travel occasionally, depending on specific project requirements.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program for Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
    • A demonstrated interest in geotechnical engineering.
    • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and common engineering tools.
    • Ability to work in the United States starting in May 2027.
    • Must be at least 18 years old.

    • This position is located on-site in Anchorage, Alaska.
    • This is a paid internship.
    • No relocation or housing assistance is provided for this role.
