About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists on projects that power and connect communities. You will gain hands-on experience supporting the design and delivery of electrical systems across buildings, infrastructure, industrial, and energy projects. This position offers the opportunity to develop technical skills while working within a collaborative team environment.
What you'll do#
- Support the design and analysis of electrical systems for buildings, infrastructure, industrial, and energy-related projects.
- Assist with electrical load calculations, equipment selection, and design documentation.
- Help prepare drawings, specifications, reports, and technical memoranda.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to develop project solutions.
- Participate in site visits, inspections, condition assessments, and field investigations.
- Review applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with project coordination activities and document management.
- Contribute to solutions that improve project outcomes and client satisfaction.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering degree program.
- Returning to full-time studies upon completion of the internship term.
- Strong interest in electrical systems design, power distribution, building systems, infrastructure, industrial facilities, or renewable energy projects.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and a desire to learn in a consulting environment.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or other engineering software is considered an asset.
- A valid driver's license is considered an asset for roles involving site work.
