About the role#
The Electrical Analytical Division provides electrical analysis and consulting services for power projects. This team works on substation, transmission line, conventional power, nuclear, and renewable energy projects. As an intern, you will assist engineers with technical studies and calculations to support these projects.
What you'll do#
You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with the following tasks:
- Relay setting calculations
- Power system calculations
- Arc flash calculations
- Cable ampacity calculations
- Transient and harmonic analysis
- Renewable energy calculations
- Grounding and induction calculations
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
- You have a strong academic background with an emphasis on Power Systems Analysis.
- You are proficient with MS Office applications.
- You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You have solid interpersonal skills and work well with others.
- Prior internship or work experience in power analysis is preferred.
- Experience with software such as ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, or EMTP-RV is a plus.
- A working knowledge of scripting languages like Python or JavaScript is preferred.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based in Chicago, Illinois.
- This position follows a hybrid work schedule, mixing time in the office with remote work.
