About the role#
The Electrical Engineering Intern will assist laboratory staff in improving the quality and customer satisfaction of private branded products for UL retail customers. You will help ensure that factories and manufactured products meet specifications and legal requirements. This role involves monitoring process controls, supporting supply chain issue resolution, and contributing to data-driven improvement initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Assist with quality improvement efforts to reduce returns and customer complaints.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, contracts, and purchase orders.
- Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solutions, and providing feedback.
- Assist in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), control plans, and measurement system analysis.
- Develop and validate test and inspection plans based on industry trends and performance data.
- Support the review and resolution of issues involving suppliers, factories, and distribution.
- Analyze and interpret test results to determine the root cause of failures.
- Define, develop, and deploy data, analytics, and reporting products.
- Conduct data validation, statistical analysis, and data mapping.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior in an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering or related program.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of basic soldering and circuit analysis.
- Completion of at least two major-related courses.
- Experience with hand tools, drills, and measuring equipment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
