About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will support the engineering team with process optimization and continuous improvement. You will gain hands-on experience by working directly on the shop floor, analyzing production data, and contributing to projects that improve efficiency and quality.
What you'll do#
- Create or update work instructions, SOPs, and process flow diagrams.
- Assist in documenting assembly procedures and quality checks.
- Gather production data such as cycle times, scrap rates, and downtime.
- Perform statistical analysis to identify trends or bottlenecks.
- Support root cause analysis for defects and inefficiencies.
- Participate in Kaizen events and Lean initiatives.
- Suggest improvements for workflow, ergonomics, and material handling.
- Help implement 5S practices.
- Support quality audits and inspection processes.
- Maintain compliance with ISO standards and company requirements.
- Troubleshoot minor issues on the shop floor under supervision.
- Coordinate with operators to ensure process adherence.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on production metrics.
- Communicate findings and improvement ideas to engineers and supervisors.
- Assist in creating training materials for operators.
- Document new processes introduced during projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
- Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
