About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within a Winland Foods Durum Mill. You will work directly with the Mill Manager and millers to learn the technical and management side of the business. The role connects your academic coursework with industrial milling operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with milling expansion projects.
- Help with the preliminary engineering of a mill pneumatic system.
- Design a dust control system for a flour blending facility.
- Create and implement a Preventative Maintenance program.
- Expand the germ extraction and recovery system.
- Engineer an extension to a flour mill break system.
- Develop and implement a Master Sanitation program.
What you'll need#
- Coursework in Milling Science.
- A background in Ag Business, Economics, or Tech Management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to learn internal computer systems.
Location & details#
- Location: Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
- Term: Summer 2027 (End of May through mid-August).
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.
- Employment: Full time, on-site.
