About the role#
This Co-Op position offers hands-on experience in logistics and process improvement within an aerospace manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals to apply your engineering knowledge to real-world production challenges. This is a full-time, paid assignment based in Malden, Massachusetts, spanning from January 2027 to June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Develop documentation and training standards for logistics workflows.
- Create work instructions that meet internal, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Build a cross-training matrix for material handlers.
- Conduct time studies and analyze data on warehouse movements.
- Identify and remove redundant processes and paperwork.
- Implement process improvements to prevent internal and external escapes.
- Introduce barcode scanning and improve part traceability.
- Error-proof shipping documentation, labeling, and material issues.
- Organize the warehouse and execute new layout designs.
- Implement visual factory and 5S standards.
- Manage inventory counts and partner with finance on excess and obsolete inventory.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited university, preferably studying Industrial Engineering.
- A high school diploma.
- Up to one year of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to work on-site five days per week.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- A professional, adaptable, and resilient approach to work.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to travel between locations or to suppliers up to 25% of the time.
- Comfort working in a plant environment while wearing required personal protective equipment.
