About the role#
This is a 12-week internship starting in late May 2027. You will work on-site in Stuart, Florida, to develop CNC programming skills for precision aerospace components. You will work alongside engineers, machinists, and programmers to gain hands-on experience in program development, optimization, and troubleshooting.
What you'll do#
- Create and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
- Analyze cycle times and tool efficiency to support process improvement.
- Review technical drawings and specifications to confirm programming accuracy.
- Verify CNC programs through simulation and shop floor testing.
- Work with machinists and engineers to refine machining processes.
- Document best practices and lessons learned.
- Troubleshoot machining and programming challenges.
- Maintain records of CNC programs, tool paths, and process updates.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve manufacturing efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Ability to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
- Understanding of machining concepts and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, specifically NX.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Location: Stuart, Florida.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- This position requires mobility in a manufacturing plant while wearing personal protective equipment.
- You must be able to sit, stand, and walk frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds.
