About the role#
This 10-week summer internship offers PhD candidates the chance to work on complex business challenges. You will work alongside experienced quantitative professionals to develop and evaluate solutions that support business strategy, risk management, and customer experience. The program includes mentorship, technical training, and exposure to senior leaders. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time roles after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Develop pricing models for various trading desks.
- Enhance production models to mitigate performance deterioration.
- Develop simulation models to forecast losses for trading portfolios.
- Create benchmark models to assess the limitations of existing production models.
- Provide analysis and reporting on metrics used to assess ongoing model performance.
- Apply statistical and quantitative techniques to validate model design, calibration, and implementation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field with an expected graduation date after December 2027.
- Excellent programming skills in Python, C++, SQL, and Java for data and statistical analysis.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to apply research, modeling, visualization, and generative AI to generate insights.
- Knowledge of mathematical and numerical methods including Monte Carlo methods, differential equations, linear algebra, applied probability, and statistics.
- Ability to design, develop, and deliver scalable solutions while driving operational excellence.
