About the role#
The Wells Fargo Quantitative Analytics Internship Program offers PhD candidates a 10-week summer experience. You will work alongside experienced professionals to apply advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to complex business challenges. The program includes project work, mentorship, technical training, and exposure to senior leadership. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time roles following graduation.
What you'll do#
- Forecast loss and revenue for credit card loan portfolios.
- Develop credit scorecards for consumer decisioning strategies.
- Build models to identify money laundering patterns across transaction databases.
- Predict operational losses using statistical and machine learning modeling.
- Apply statistical and quantitative techniques to validate model design, calibration, and implementation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 2+ years of work experience or equivalent.
- Excellent programming skills in Python, R, SQL, Spark, or Java.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Ability to execute with urgency.
