About the role#
The Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) function at American Express manages risk throughout the customer lifecycle across consumer and commercial businesses. This internship program offers exposure to global risk decision-making, predictive modeling, and strategy development. You will work within a team focused on either credit risk portfolio monitoring or fraud risk control improvement.
What you'll do#
- Partner with Digital Product and Business Unit teams to provide insights for product development and marketing investment decisions.
- Collaborate to design and implement strategies based on statistical, financial, and economic analysis.
- Provide analytical support to drive billing, revenue growth, and profitability.
- Integrate new data sources and capabilities to inform business decisions.
- Analyze and improve fraud controls across all points of business, including account acquisition, card issuance, and financial transactions.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to research and link complex issues.
- Willingness to learn and master new systems.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative environments and manage multiple priorities.
