About the role#
The Climate Research Co-op supports our investment teams by bridging the gap between climate science and financial markets. You will work alongside the Climate Research Team to analyze how physical climate risks and energy transition trends impact capital markets. This role is open exclusively to Northeastern University students.
What you'll do#
- Support investors by integrating climate data, focusing on physical risks and energy transition opportunities.
- Conduct physical risk exposure reviews for specific companies.
- Lead self-directed research projects on the financial impacts of climate change.
- Gather data to prepare for company engagements.
- Develop analytical frameworks to better understand climate-related financial impacts.
- Attend and summarize meetings with the Woodwell Climate Research Center and the MIT Center for Sustainability Science and Strategy.
- Participate in sell-side presentations, industry group meetings, and internal climate research hubs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Northeastern University.
- At least one previous co-op experience.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and research synthesis skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- A strong academic track record, work ethic, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred: Coursework or experience in environmental science, economics, or finance.

- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid (in-office 4 days per week, with 1 day of remote flexibility).
