About the role#
WEC Energy Group is hiring a Safety and Industrial Hygiene Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You will support our business units by identifying risks and helping maintain a safe work environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform industrial hygiene monitoring to measure employee exposure to physical, biological, and chemical agents.
- Audit safety performance through site observations and staff discussions.
- Identify areas for improvement and share solutions with facility management.
- Assist in creating and implementing safety policies, programs, and procedures.
- Gather data to support compliance with the OSHA National Emphasis Program regarding heat stress.
- Develop safety communications such as bulletins and monthly topics.
- Learn about field-level industrial hygiene and hazard identification.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, HSED, or GED.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
- A graduation date after July 2027.
- A valid driver license.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Schedule: Full-time during Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $21.30 to $24.60 per hour, including paid company holidays.
