About the role#
The Renewables Analytics team at WEC Energy Group supports a large fleet of renewable energy projects. This internship focuses on data preparation, analysis, and visualization to enable data-based decision making. You will work with business and data analysts to solve architecture and process needs while monitoring the performance of wind, solar, and battery storage assets.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain databases for critical equipment meta data.
- Manage data flows and pipelines that support real-time predictive models.
- Oversee the ETL process to transform operational SCADA data into aggregated repositories.
- Collaborate with the team to design and deploy fleet-level analytics and KPI reporting.
- Perform ad hoc investigations into equipment issues.
- Support subject matter experts by providing access to raw and aggregated data.
- Travel to generation sites in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, or Indiana as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a graduation date after June 2027.
- Minimum GPA of 2.8.
- High School Diploma, GED, or HSED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience writing code, programs, or algorithms.

- Locations: Milwaukee, WI or Green Bay, WI.
- Term: Summer 2027 (full-time).
- Modality: Hybrid (alternating between remote and office work).
- Pay: $23.10 to $27.55 per hour.
