About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 within the Driver Refinement Foundations team. You will work on the Reasoning Platform, which maintains the core APIs and frameworks that power Waymo's planning logic. This role is based in Mountain View, California, and operates on a hybrid schedule.
What you'll do#
- Write C++ code for autolabelers to identify useful driving events.
- Label ground truth data and assess the quality of autolabeler outputs.
- Run experiments with different technical approaches.
- Document your findings and share results with the team.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong coding skills in C++.
- A solid grasp of fundamental algorithms and data structures.
- Experience with unit, integration, and regression testing.
- Ability to design metrics and work effectively with data.
- Experience working in team environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred: Experience with autonomous robot software, Linux development, and version control systems.
